The Golden State Warriors have clinched the No. 7 spot in the Western Conference and are headed to the NBA play-in tournament.
Next Up:
- Opponent: Memphis Grizzlies
- Date: Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. PT
- Location: Chase Center
- TV: TNT
- Radio: 95.7 The Game
If the Warriors win, they’ll grab the No. 7 playoff seed and face the second-seeded Houston Rockets in a best-of-seven first-round series.
Projected Series Format vs. Rockets:
- Games in Houston: 1, 2, 5, 7
- Games in San Francisco: 3, 4, 6
- Start Date: Saturday or Sunday (to be confirmed after Tuesday’s result)
A loss to Memphis doesn’t end the Warriors’ season. They’d get one more shot at the playoffs Friday at home against the winner of the Kings vs. Mavericks play-in game.
Kings vs. Mavericks:
- Date: Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. PT
- TV: ESPN
Potential Opponents
- If Warriors win against Memphis: Houston Rockets (2nd seed)
- If Warriors lose to Memphis and win against Kings/Mavericks winner: potentially Oklahoma City Thunder (1st seed) if they lose their game and Thunder doesn’t play them.
A Friday win would secure the Warriors the eighth seed and set up a first-round showdown with the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder, starting Sunday or Monday. But if Golden State drops both play-in games, their season ends.

Amid the playoff pressure, Steph Curry keeps breaking records. He’s now the oldest point guard in NBA history to average over 20 points per game for a season.
This year, Curry averaged 24.5 points, 6.0 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game. Despite a tough loss to the Clippers, Curry ended the regular season on a high note with 36 points.
The play-in awaits, but Curry’s performance is all that matters.
Jimmy Butler all-in on Warriors’ play-in push: “We’re right where we wanna be”
Warriors small forward Jimmy Butler didn’t mince words after the Golden State Warriors dropped a critical game to the Clippers.
“We’re right where we wanna be,” he said, according to SI. “We still… control our own fate.”
Even with the setback, including Steph Curry’s season-high eight turnovers and a missed layup by Draymond Green in crunch time, Butler believes the Warriors will “be just fine.”
He backed that up with action, posting 30 points and nine assists in the loss. As one of the team’s veterans, Butler embraced the extra pressure.
“I do [feel the responsibility],” he said.
When asked what he took away from the defeat, Butler said:
“Don’t lose.”
Jimmy Butler was limping postgame. Left thigh hurting. Took that knee from Kawhi Leonard late. But he said he plans to play Tuesday vs Grizzlies. Here is his full media availability. pic.twitter.com/zdSKj4frsl

The message is simple – win or go home.
Despite tweaking his knee after a collision with Kawhi Leonard late in the game, Butler hinted he’ll suit up for the upcoming play-in matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies.
“We’ve [got] a job to do… we’re capable of doing it,” he said.
With the Warriors set to host Memphis, the goal is straightforward: win out and keep their title hopes alive.
