Conor McGregor has not stepped inside an octagon since 10th July 2021. The Irish legend faced Dustin Poirier in the trilogy fight and lost due to doctor stoppage. The 36-year-old has been rumored for fights since then, but nothing has come to fruition. Despite his inactivity inside the cage, McGregor is one of the most popular fighters in the world.
The former two-division champion boasts a massive social media following and is always making public appearances, keeping his brand alive. Apart from running several successful business ventures, McGregor has also involved himself in the world of cinema during his years of inactivity.
The Notorious starred in the 2024 movie Road House. It was a remake of the 1994 classic by the same name and featured the late Patrick Swayze in the lead role. In the third installment of the titular franchise, Hollywood superstar Jake Gyllenhaal played the lead role whereas McGregor played the lead antagonist, Knox.
With nothing new in the pipeline, at least in public knowledge, McGregor now apparently wants to make an appearance on JRE. Recently, the Notorious took to social media, with a proposal for Joe Rogan, that has excited the fans of the Irish legend.
Conor McGregor texted Joe Rogan
Joe Rogan’s podcast has been the biggest podcast in the world for years. Due to his close ties with the UFC and the world of mixed martial arts, Rogan often invites fighters as guests on his podcast. However, amidst all the famous names that have graced his set, McGregor, the most popular mixed martial artist has never been on his podcast.
The Notorious posted, “What’s up @joerogan my man I messaged you! Are you looking for a guest on the podcast, I have a great one for you!” Although he didn’t mention that he’s going to be the guest, fans have made up their theories and ran with it already.
Rogan is yet to respond to McGregor’s social media post. Considering how inactive he is on social media, it’s likely that we won’t see a public response. However, these two don’t seem to have any bad blood between them, so, it’s possible that fans will finally get to see McGregor getting the JRE.
