Kyrie Irving, born on March 23, 1992, in Melbourne, Australia, is a professional basketball player known for his exceptional ball-handling skills and scoring ability. Raised in West Orange, New Jersey, Irving was introduced to basketball by his father, Drederick Irving, a former collegiate player at Boston University. After a standout high school career, Irving played one season at Duke University under coach Mike Krzyzewski. Despite an early injury that limited his college play, he was selected first overall in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Irving has since played for the Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, and Dallas Mavericks. Known for his clutch performances, particularly his game-winning three-pointer in the 2016 NBA Finals, Irving continues to be a prominent figure in the NBA.
