Ever since joining the Golden State Warriors earlier this year, Jimmy Butler has become an important asset for the team. Being ‘Robin’ to Stephen Curry’s ‘Batman,’ Butler helped lead the Warriors into the playoffs. He had some memorable performances during the regular season for his new team.
However, the most apt time for him to shine has just started. Butler becomes the best version of himself during the playoffs. Because of his tendency to outperform his competition in the playoffs, he has earned the moniker ‘Playoff Jimmy.’
Unfortunately, Playoff Jimmy could only work his magic in Game 1 of the first-round playoff series against the Houston Rockets. Steph led the team with 31 points, six rebounds, and three assists while Butler played the perfect Robin with 25 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. In Game 2, Butler picked up an injury.
Butler was on the floor for just eight minutes prior to his hard fall. He was then taken out of the game and was ruled out for the remainder of the competition. The Warriors fans were shocked to find out that their team will go against the Rockets without Butler. However, Steph wasn’t going to lose the game at home as he had another brilliant outing with 36/7/9.
Amidst the speculations around Butler’s availability for the rest of the series, fans are hoping for just one thing. They want Butler to take them over the hump. Prior to Game 3, a fan had posted, “We just need Jimmy for 3 games.” Even though Butler remained sidelined for the contest, the Warriors registered their second win of the series. Now, they’re only two wins away from moving to the next round.
Will Jimmy Butler be available for Game 4?
There’s still a cloud of doubt above Butler’s availability in Game 4. Although the team has shown that they can take care of the Rockets without him by registering a comfortable 104-93 win, having Butler on the floor will only increase their chances. In case he doesn’t make it to the next game, the pressure will be solely shouldered by Stephen Curry once again.
Ahead of the important game in the context of the series, Steve Kerr dropped an update. As per ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk, “Steve Kerr said Jimmy Butler has been with the training staff today and remains questionable for Game 4 on Monday. Today is an off day for Warriors.”

Butler has produced masterclass performances in the playoffs in past. His 56 point outburst against the Bucks in 2023 will forever be etched in the fans’ memories. He has scored 40 points or more on eight different occasions in this decade alone. Butler has 23 30+ point performances in the playoffs in his career so far.
Needless to say, a player of his caliber is all a team needs in the postseason. For now, it’s unlikely that he’ll be available for Game 4, but the Warriors seem to be in control of the series without him.
