Oklahoma City Thunder played a big statement on opening night in Salt Lake City. They outplayed the Philadelphia 76ers with intelligent plays and precise execution.

Undrafted guard Ajay Mitchell was the leading man. He had 16 points and 7 assists in 24 minutes. His poise and tempo kept the offense going and the Sixers guessing. Nikola Topić, dropped 13 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and added 2 assists. His poise and decision-making stood out.
Ajay and Nikola chemistry kept the Thunder on the move. They broke up the Sixers’ defense and created opening lanes. OKC shot better than 48% from the field and had five double-figure scorers. Other players were also involved with mixing in hustle with big rebounds and off-ball action.

Ajay Mitchell
Ajay Mitchell is a Belgian guard. The New York Knicks picked him 38th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft. They later traded him to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He signed a two-way contract with the Thunder.
In the Summer League game, he scored 16 points and dished out 7 assists in just 24 minutes. At UC Santa Barbara, he was a standout player. He won Big West Player of the Year.
Nikola Topic
Nikola Topić is a young, upside European guard who unfortunately sat out his rookie season with injury but is now making waves in Summer League.
He had 11 points, 5 assists with assertive playmaking. Struggled from outside, but defense and passing were notable early on. If he develops his shooting and turnover prevention, he can be a reliable playmaker who supports OKC’s stars and raises the team’s ceiling.
