Brenden Queen discovered the problem during the ARCA race. He expected the long patch near the restart area to provide extra bite. Instead, Queen reported heavy wheelspin, especially when his car crossed back onto the older pavement.

The difference does not need to reach 40 laps to create chaos. In 2024, Ryan Blaney took only two tires during the final caution while William Byron restarted behind him on four fresh tires.
